As health and safety liability continues to increase, so does the potential for litigation. As one of the leading authorities on crowd safety globally, I offer expert witness services to the legal profession.
Most recently, 2009, I was an expert witness in cases in the UK, (personal injury in the crowd at a London Underground Station) and at the USA supreme Court (serious injury at an outdoor event.) Both of these cases went to trial and both were settled during trial. I have also testified (live on TV) to a house committee in the Washington DC Capitol Buildings. I offer advice and interpretation on current legislation and its compliance implications relating to the science of Crowd Dynamics (crowds and crowd behaviour). My expertise includes a wide range of health and safety issues, including risk assessment. My work also covers many aspects of UK resilience in the light of the international escalation of terrorism.

Training
- I developed and deliver the UK Cabinet Office Emergency Planning College training programs for Crowd Dynamics, Applied Crowd Dynamics and the crowd elements of Safety at Sports Grounds, Festivals and Mass Gatherings and Safety in the Built and Complex Environment.
- I also develop BA (Honours), MSc (Masters) and Foundation Degree courses for the International Centre for Crowd Management and Security Studies in Crowd Dynamics.
Experience
- 20 years in the Event Industry modelling crowd behaviors, advising on events, consulting at a Govt. Level (UK, Saudi Arabia, Holland, Singapore, Australia, Hong Kong, USA).
- Mega-Projects include the Annual Pilgrimage to Makkah (3,000,000 people per day), London New Year Events (750,000 people), Sydney Olympics (500,000 per day), Brighton Pride (200,000 people), Aberdeen Hogmany (24,000 people) and the local fireworks and sports events for our village (500 people). These are just a few of the projects I've been directly involved with over the last 20 years.
